I've taught SEO for nearly 20 years, and I get amazing feedback from people who take my course with me and then apply it to their own work on their own website, or that of their clients.
HOWEVER - recently I was giving my SEO training to someone incredibly TIME POOR - someone who had actually already said that whilst they wanted SEO training, they actually wanted to pay my agency to do their SEO every month.
So I started my usual indepth DIY SEO course, teaching them all the technical and non-technical fundamentals of how to do their own SEO and I just realised, it was a waste of both of our time. Because they were never going to have the time to do this work on their own site. That's why they were paying me to do it!
But I do think it's incredibly important that marketing teams and communication teams and any level of management who has anything to do with a website, understand what SEO is, how they can help it, what actions they may take - or request - which can hinder it, and what you SHOULDN'T do.
I've heard far too many horror stories of "professional" SEO-ers doing dodgy black-hat SEO that might seem good for 5 minutes, but then after they've been paid, the long term effects really damage the website.
So that's when I put together the "SEO for Executives" PDF.
